1. I Saw Seinfeld in Munich

Day 1
Location 1: Munich
Nov. 1, 2022

I stepped off the 8 hour New York to Frankfurt flight and stepped right into a pretzel shop. Welcome to Germany. Then I stepped right onto a 3hr train to Munich.

Here's photo proof of me eating that pretzel because I could tell you were doubting it.

My side quest is to play basketball in every city with the help of CourtsOfTheWorld.com. So at 11:01am–only about four hours into my trip–here I was:

While shooting around at a busier, nearby court (right) I met Rawle, a nice dude from Greece who explained that since Munich is so far from the UK, it was safe from most of the bombings during WW2. That geographical saving grace has allowed Munich to preserve many beautiful parks that other German cities have tragically lost.

I told him "I didn't ask for a history lesson dude, why don't you get lost." It's those sweet little moments that make Europe so magical.

At this point, I was absolutely exhausted. I had gone over 30 hours without real sleep. So I went to my hostel, and got into bed. But not before noticing something familiar about the street I was staying on. You are forbidden to watch this video unless you have sound on. I mean it.

Gute nacht. (That means "thanks for reading Dylan's travel blog" in German, I think).
