5. Mini-Me in Vienna

Day 5
Location 2: Vienna
Nov. 5, 2022

Side Quest to Play Basketball in Every City Update:
The universe played a trick on me. It was weird. I met my mini-me on a basketball court. I swear this kid was a younger version of me. Alex looked like me, played like me, he was playing music during the game and let me tell you they were all bangers. Such a nice dude and fun to play with.
(I even sent my dad a clip of Alex playing under the guise that I had found an old video of me playing basketball back when I had longer hair, and he believed it was me. Wait, now I don't know if it's wild that we looked so similar or if it's sad my dad didn't recognize it wasn't me.)
Anyway, here's a little compilation of us playing that's so wholesome it would make Verne Troyer (R.I.P.) proud:

Back in Boston, our favorite going out spot was Club Cafe, a gay bar with incredibly strong drinks. Here in Vienna, I was invited to go out with some people who work at the hostel.

After some free drinks and briefly taking over the hostel's music, I left with them to a gay bar called...Club Cafe! No I don't actually remember the name of where we went, but it was a good time.

Stevie (below, right) was one of the funniest people I've ever met. Andreas (below, left) was the sweetest dude from Spain who took me to a 24-hour bakery on the way home where I bought a hot-dog-calzone-thing and a baguette.

"Why the fuck are you buying a baguette" everyone yelled at me. Yet when offered, they all said "ooh yes I'll take a piece." There's a lesson there: you can never go wrong with a baguette.

Last thing. I had my first cappuccino of the trip and it was delicious. Had the shits all day after that, so I'll keep you updated on if that remains consistent. The cappuccino was good though, definitely worth it.
