There's a scene in the American version of The Office where Steve Carrell as Michael Scott is attempting to tell his employees not to bother the new intern, Luke. He starts by writing "Don't Bother Luke" in a red circle with a line through it. But that's a double negative which translates to don't don't bother Luke, as in botherLuke. After a few attempts at clarifying, he ends up with this:
When I first watched this scene, I thought it was a little far-fetched. I don't think that anymore:
Madrid's hybrid tropical-temperate-mediterranean climate makes it a perfect environment for a plethora of plant species to grow. As a result, the city's botanical gardens is an absolute marvel of a sight, a true spectacle of nature's beauty...unless all the plants are dead for some reason like, say, it's winter.
Luckily, at night you can see the gardens decorated for a spectacular light show unless...all the lights are off for some reason like, say, you go during the day.
Today I visited a free museum and one of the pieces especially resonated with me. Even now, as I type this on my laptop, I'm sitting upright in a Liverpool hostel bed at 2:18am wearing nothing but an undershirt and some underpants, I still see myself in the artwork. Can you guess which piece affected me? (See answer below).
Answer: You guessed it. It's the one on the right with the little piss boy.
