The Berlin Wall is the main historical draw of Berlin. An important part of that history is Checkpoint Charlie, the best-known crossing point across the Wall between East and West Berlin.
There is a particular infamous view of the pyramids in Egypt (below, right) through a nearby and intruding Pizza Hut. Fortunately, Checkpoint Charlie doesn't share that problem (below, left):
Instead, it has a KFC!
Berlin is notorious for their club scene. Unfortunately, Berlin's club scene is notorious for not letting people (especially tourists) inside. After dinner, a few friends and I went to a club with an unpronounceable name. While waiting in line, we studied. Apparently, the bouncers give a short test at the door on the night's lineup. So we stood in line quizzing each other on names that carried no meaning: "Jackie-O", "Lina", and "DJ Lion".
The potential patrons ahead of us were asked "do you know what's going on here". Their leader, a tall skinny guy, eeked out "uhh a club?". "What else?" demanded the bouncer. Tall skinny guy shrugged. The bouncer sighed and let them in. Everyone involved felt embarrassed, I think.
