28. This Post Was 22 Years in the Making

Day 28
Location 6: Prague
Nov. 28, 2022

In Prague, there are few key locations from my two favorite spy-based movie franchises. Coincidentally enough, both of these franchises star very normal, regular, not-in-a-cult lead actors: James Bond (starring Daniel Craig) and Mission: Impossible (starring Tom Cruise).

Here are two key locations from each of these star's debut films of their respective franchises...

Casino Royale
In 2006's Casino Royale, 007 learns at his Venice hotel that Vesper has betrayed him. The "hotel", though, is actually a museum and "Venice" is actually Prague. Here is the moment of Bond's realization combined with a video I took that captures his supposed point of view.
This is the second dumbest thing I've ever done (spoiler alert: the dumbest thing I've ever done is coming up next).

Mission: Impossible
In 1996, the same year I was born, Mission: Impossible was released in theaters. The opening mission goes horribly wrong to the point where Cruise's Ethan Hunt witnesses a team member die and then runs down an interesting staircase to check on her. Here is the moment with the interesting staircase combined with a video of me running down the same staircase. (This is the dumbest thing I've ever done and I'm embarrassed. But given the chance, I'd do it again).

During my last week in Boston, I threw a party on my apartment roof to soak up some last minute 'friend time' before I said goodbye to everyone for a while. At 2am, the 3rd floor resident stormed onto the roof without a shirt on (but with a shirt tucked into the waistband of his shorts??) and reprimanded us for being too loud.

To accomodate the unnecessarily shirtless man, we headed to Chinatown for some late-night food. One of my best friends from Boston, Bo Segrest, was extremely high at this point. A lot of us were high, but none of us were so high that we found ourselves dueling a king crab in a staring contest (and losing):

Anyway, the point of all that is the museum–the one used for Casino Royale–had tons of animals, including Bo's newfound arch nemesis, the king crab:
