26. The Great Wall of Vagina

In 2002, Prague (and lots of Europe) was flooded, causing over $27 billion in damages. Due to the floods, some roads collapsed in on themselves, revealing previously hidden underground tunnels from the 1500s.

It turns out, these ancient tunnels were used by Alchemists to hide their experiments from the tyrannical Roman Empire. It's like something out of a Scooby-Doo episode where Shaggy finds a bookshelf and while sniffing around, Scoob accidentally bumps a statue that triggers a trapdoor to slide away revealing a spooky, underground tunnel. In 2008, British artist Jamie McCartney cast the genitalia of over 400 women for an installation that gained tons of popularity and was deemed The Great Wall of Vagina. Anyway, today I saw these two sculptures:

Both my mom and dad both read this blog, so I was nervous about including this section. Seeking advice, I texted my friend Bo Segrest. His response was exceptionally insightful:


 
My night ended with a pub crawl whose bathroom had–yet again–a literal sex toy dispenser. After a discussion with some colleagues, we hypothesized what the sales of this dispenser might look like throughout a typical night. Our data is shown below. Under the graph is a video compilation of the rest of the night.
